Latest mid-weeker on Sophies and Molly's
Midweek open - Wednesday 5th August 2009
The regular mid-weekers continue to grow in popularity with plenty of bites and fish to be had.
The latest match in hot and sunny conditions again produced consistent catches with Sophies Pool again dominating the frame.
Bob Giles lead the way with an excellent 169lb catch comprised of almost 100 carp from peg 16. Bob caught mainly on the deck just down the near shelf with pellets. Bob felt he wasted the first hour and a half trying to catch the fish that were feeding tight in the margins. He eventually moved further out and proceeded to catch very quickly. Venue expert Tex was disappointed with his return of 126lbs from fancied peg 19, but it was obvious that the peg had been heavily fished in the preceding days. He also caught most fish at full depth on just 4 sections of pole. Tex was followed closely by Ryan Leddington who was just 8oz behind on the dam wall. Top weight on Molly’s went to young Dai Evans with just over 94lbs on corn from peg 14.
Full result:
1st Bob Giles Peg S16 169-10-0
2nd Tex Peg S19 126-4-0
3rd Ryan Leddington Peg S14 125-12-0
4th Lyn Jones Peg S8 116-4-0
5th Brian Jones Peg S2 105-0-0
