Amount of bait

Post  Blondie on Fri Jul 17, 2009 8:51 am

I fancy having a crack at some of the Opens at Redhill but the word is you need to take a massive amount of corn and pellet to compete. It's not the cost that bothers me - let's face it corn and pellets are cheap really. It just seems crude.
Any advice on this would be appreciated.

re CRUDE comment

Post  dinoteam on Wed Jul 29, 2009 5:20 pm

Whats crude about that? all the anglers know at this time of year at redhill that a large amount of bait is needed ,it has allways been the same, you should have a go at the matches to see why all that bait is needed , i got to admit that we have been told a lot of things in the past but we have never been told that it is CRUDE as you state it ,after all it is a commercial fishery not a canal where you sit there for hrs waiting to catch a few eyes, you have got to remember that when you are competing in a match where in most cases over 100lb of fish wont see you even get a section win then maybe thats why you need so much bait not quite sure what you are getting at there ???????????????

Geting back to your comment only advice we can give you is to bring at least 6/8 pints of carp pellet and at least 6/10 tins of corn all depends if the fish on the day want to play if you stop feeding you will loose the fish Shocked Surprised

Perhaps "crude" was the wrong word - apologies.
I suppose having never fed that much it seems pretty intimidating.
Are the 2 lakes fishing well? They used to post results but I can't seem to find the link any more.
